The Bluegrass Standard
We breed for the whole hound.
Our bloodlines are stacked deep with show lines and backed by carefully selected top-tier working stock that met our conformation requirements. That gives us a true dual-purpose Bluetick while keeping the breeding focus where we want it: the show ring and the family home. Companionship is where Bluegrass is breeding toward.
Intelligence
We value a hound that can think, learn, adapt and connect. A good mind is part of a complete dog.
Temperament
Stable, affectionate and trustworthy temperaments matter because these dogs are bred to share a life—not simply carry a pedigree.

Traditional blue/tan-trimmed Blueticks and our Bluetick Blacks both have a place here. Color never changes the standard we breed toward: correct structure, intelligence, temperament and unmistakable Bluetick character.
The working heritage remains in the blood. Some of our dogs love to hunt, and we let them be hounds. Hunting is not the breeding destination. Our focus is show quality and, most importantly, the kind of companion people are grateful to live with.

Deep show bloodlines form the backbone of the program. Select working blood has been added only when the individual dog also met our conformation requirements, preserving ability without changing where Bluegrass is headed.
